On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Bette M. Offerman, 78, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Mass and lunch to follow. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bette was born on Jan. 25, 1945, in Elma, Iowa, to Glen and Erma (Bodensteiner) Brannon. During her life, Bette was fun loving person, who enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her church community. She was a caring wife, mother, grandma, friend and neighbor. Bette was extremely generous and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand or ear. She will be missed by many.
Bette is survived by her husband, Virgil; daughter, Connie (Mike) Vasey; stepchildren, Sandy (Don) Strait, Pat (Jeff) Sperry, Rick (Cathy) Offerman, Larry (Kathy) Offerman, Mike Offerman and Lori Offerman Haskell; grandchildren, Amanda and Claire; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Hageman and Barb Martinek.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
