Bette Jo (Soukup) Plotner, of Parrish, Fla., passed away on Sept. 15, 2022, after a short battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Bette Jo was born on April 7, 1947. She graduated from Regis High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1965.
She married George E. Rogers in 1967 and lived in Michigan. They had three children, Jennifer, Eric and Aaron. George passed away in May 2002. She married Clifford (Kip) Meloan and moved to Montana. Kip passed away in September 2004. She married Tom Plotner Sr. and moved to Florida. Tom passed away in 2014.
She is survived by her three children, Jennifer (Dirk) Ockerlander, Eric (Jill) Rogers and Aaron Rogers; five grandchildren, Lindsey Ockerlander, Luke Ockerlander, Connor Ockerlander, Jenna (Parker) Reid and Noah Rogers; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jamie (Jerry) Brejcha, Susan (Shawn) Terjeson and Debra Hawes; many nieces and nephews. Also her friends in Florida, Loretta, Brian and Vicky and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bette Soukup; and husbands, George E. Rogers, Clifford (Kip) Meloan and Tom Plotner, Sr.
Bette Jo was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers. She loved her furry kids, Gizmo, Lucy and Millie.
Bette Jo will be cremated and her remains buried at Mount Cavalry in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private family graveside service will be held at a future date.
