Batesville, Ark.
Bessie M. Peek, 98, of Batesville, Ark., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Wood-Lawn Heights Care Center in Batesville, Ark. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bessie was born on May 6, 1923, in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Leota (Grant) Archer. Growing up, she attended school in Bloomfield, Iowa. Bessie was united to marriage to John P. Peek on May 11, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. In 1964, she started working in the Data Processing Department at FMC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bessie retired from FMC in 1982. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, and puzzles.
Survivors include her children, John Peek of Batesville, Ark., and Peggy Sammons Craig of Craig, Colo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Alice.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, John.
