Bertling, Christina M.

Christina M. Bertling, 76, of Apple Valley, Minn., formerly of Monticello, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice Center, Edina, Minn., after a sudden illness. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Birch

Christina was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Monticello, the daughter of Norbert and Catherine (Muller) Manternach. She married Donald S. Bertling on Nov. 6 1954, in Monticello.

Christina was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, with a profound love of God, quilting and flowers.

Christina is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Tim) Sartori of Leonardtown, Md., Charlotte (John) Bertling-Erland of Maple Grove, Minn., and Anna (John) Beadle of Apple Valley, Minn.; six sons, Leo (Caroline) of Marion, Mark (Maribeth) of Britt, Jim (Molly) of Mount Vernon, Frank (Angie) of Wasilla, Alaska, Pete (Lori) and Ron (Angie) of Monticello; many grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Manternach; and brothers, Norbert, Dan, Dave and Jerry Manternach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and one son, Eugene.

Memorials are preferred.
