Bertha Pauline (Enabnit) Wenger, 93, of Casa Grande, Ariz., formerly of Marion, Iowa, died on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at the Caliche Senior Living Center, Casa Grande, Ariz.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Chris) Wenger of Las Vegas, Nev., Myra (Robert) Clayton of Casa Grande, Ariz., Lana (John) Huie of San Clemente, Calif., and Kurt (Carrie) Wenger of Zumbrota, Minn.; six grandchildren, Cyndi McQuillan, James Wenger, Damion Wenger, Amber Wenger, Kaitlyn Huie and Paige Wenger; four great-grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Zachary and Tanner McQuillan and Paxton Wenger; and five great-great-grandchildren, Kassidee, Kaidence, Kasion, Bryxton and Carter McQuillan.
She also is survived by her sister, Ida Pratt of Robins, Iowa; brothers, Herman "Mundy" (JoAnn) Enabnit of Central City, Iowa, and Gene (Lora Mae) Enabnit of Marion, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Bertha was born on May 22, 1925, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Brechbuhl) Enabnit. She married Elmer Raymond Wenger on July 10, 1946. Elmer died in 2007. Bertha lived most of her life in Central City and Marion. She retired after 34 years working at Hy-Vee in Marion.
After her retirement, she spent her time traveling. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality and beautiful smile. Her signature look was the jewelry she always wore.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, June Arensdorf, Nellie Ash, Eileen Whitney, Helen Whitney, Margaret Scott and Betty Jordan.
She will live forever in our hearts.
