Berry, Donald L.
Donald L. Berry, 81, of Marion, passed away Sept. 16, 2009, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. David Bracht-Wagner will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 7 tonight at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Denny) Dollash of Quasqueton, Cindy (Jack) Trimble of Cedar Rapids, Randy Berry, Douglas (Julie) Berry and Ronald Berry, all of Marion; sisters, Wilma Jean Heck and Anna Mae Micheal of Walker, Alice Holub of Center Point and Marie Kuhn of Hiawatha; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aruther Leland and Mitilda Berry; wife, Henrietta; granddaughter, Melissa Trimble; and grandson, Adam Berry.
Donald LaVerne Berry was born Dec. 29, 1927, to Aruther Leland and Mitilda (Bednar) Berry, in Walker. He married Henrietta Hrdlicka on Sept. 5, 1948, in Walker. Donald worked for the Cedar Rapids Cargill plant as a millhouse operator for 21 years, retiring in 1991.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
