Berry, Devin L.
Devin L. Berry, 20, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Independence, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, in Albuquerque.
Devin was born Sept. 15, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Kevin M. and Elizabeth A. (Glovik) Berry. He was a 2008 graduate of the Independence High School and entered the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Glovik-Berry, Independence; his father, Kevin Berry of Palatine, Ill.; a sister, Phelan Berry of Independence; his paternal grandfather, Jerry Berry of Bonnieville, Ky.; and stepgrandfather, Don Corcoran of Hazelton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Beverly Glovik and Carol Corcoran.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with the Rev. Carl Glovik officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
