Berniece C. Feddersen passed away Saturday,
July 19, 2014, at the Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton.
She was born Jan. 28, 1926, to Hugo and Martha Wendt, deceased. She had one sibling, a brother, Freeman Wendt, who predeceased her. He was married to Phyllis and had three sons, Michael, Larry and Steven.
Berniece married Merle R. Feddersen in Clarence, Iowa, on May 13, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2012. They had no children.
During the 1940s, Berniece was employed at Tacker's Bakery. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service from April 1, 1956, until her retirement on May 2, 1986. During this period, she held many positions, sub-clerk, clerk, clerk in charge, acting postmaster and postmaster in charge. She was always proud of this accomplishment.
Berniece was assisted and cared for throughout her life by special friends, Richard and Deborah Sawyer. In later years, she received assistance from her neighbors, Dennis and Lee Stresemann; and her farm tenant, Donald Meier. In her last years, she benefitted from excellent care and attention by the staff at Cedar Manor in Tipton, for whom all are thankful.
In keeping with her wishes, Berniece's body has been cremated and her ashes will be united with Merle's. No visitation or services shall be held.
