Bernice E. Vaughn, 93, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community, died there Friday, May 29, 2015. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Janice Springer will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Judy (Dennis) Kimm of Cedar Rapids; and a son, David Ray, and a grandson, Mark (Cynthia) Kimm, both of Westminster, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Leona Kenner.
Bernice was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Poweshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Agnes Peterzalek Benda. She married Ray Thomas Vaughn on July 29, 1941, in Clinton. Ray passed away in 2012.
Bernice worked at Killian's in the children's department for over 15 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a faithful member of First Congregational Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, and active in its Quilt Guild. She also was a member of Golden K Kiwanis.
The family would like to thank The Meth-Wick Community, especially the fourth floor Manor and Arbor Place for the loving care given our mother.
A memorial fund has been established.
