BERNICE "BEE" LEIDICH

Bernice "Bee" Leidich, 87 of Solon, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Solon Retirement Village. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Solon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Brosh Chapel.
Bernice was born March 11, 1928, in rural Ely, the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Mrstik) Mackey. She married William Leidich on Feb. 21, 1946, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Bill and Bee farmed nearly their full married life together in the Sandy Beach area until retiring in 2006.
Bee is survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; sisters-in-law, Virginia Mackey and Veronica Mackey; as well as many great friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, who died April 10, 2012; and her siblings, Phyllis Mackey, Pauline (Joseph) Becicka, Robert Mackey, Dave Mackey and Ruth (Gilbert) Kinzey.
Memorials may be directed to the Johnson County Cattlemen's Association.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at the Solon Retirement Village for their loving care for Bee and her family.
