Bernard ‘Bernie” Wyatt, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023, following a brief illness at Mercy Iowa City. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Regina Foundation.
Bernie was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y. On Aug. 22, 1959, Bernie married Barbara Woron. Bernie started his football coaching career at Regina High School and went on to coach at the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara and their two sons, Brad (Kim) Wyatt of Story City and Barry of Santa Monica, Calif.; grandsons, Gunnar and Luke; and three great-granddaughters, Ada, Windsor and Linden.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Mary and Ernest.
