Bergstrom, Leland Wayne
Leland Wayne Bergstrom, 85, of Maryville Health Care Center, Maryville, Tenn., formerly of Waterloo, died at the center Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, of natural causes.
He was born June 16, 1925, in Troy Mills, son of Arthur Sauer and Katie Bergstrom. He married Margaret Brase on Sept. 26, 1948, in Nashua. She preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2000.
Mr. Bergstrom was employed by Rath Packing Co. for 40 years before retiring. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane (Jim) Bartels of Westgate, and Carol (William) Miller of Townsend, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Arlan Bergstrom; and a great-grandson, Adam Bartels.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
