BERDENA "BERDIE" PETERMAN
Cedar Rapids
Berdena M. "Berdie" Peterman, 92, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Oct. 17, 2015, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the funeral home by Chaplain Mike Slagenweit-Coffman.
Berdena is survived by her daughter, Donna Myers of La Porte City; daughter-in-law, Norma Peterman of Cedar Rapids, 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jeff Peterman; brother, Clarence Prull; and sisters, Helen Simmons and Henrietta Prull.
Berdena was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Langworthy, Iowa, to Eilert and Mamie (Monk) Prull. She married Frank Peterman in Cedar Rapids. She was self-employed and then worked as a greeter for Sam's Club in Cedar Rapids (where she was famous for her brightly colored pins, earrings and painted denim outfits) until she retired in 2011. She enjoyed her pets, painting and fishing.
Berdena will be fondly remembered as being hard working and "sassy."
