Benzinger, Carol J.

Carol J. Benzinger, 80, of 3225 Willowridge Rd., Marion, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at her home after a sudden illness. Per Carol's request there will be no service. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; two daughters, DiAnna Rucker of Marion and Jacqueline (Mike) Sirota of Oceanside, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Waubeek, the daughter of Frank and Mary Black Dimond. She married Jack M. Benzinger on Sept. 13, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. Carol was a homemaker and worked for the Cedar Rapids Community School District, retiring after many years of service.

Her greatest joy was family; being a part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Carol was a best friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed line dancing, working on the computer, and was an avid reader and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Carol was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
