Benter, Virginia Mary
Virginia Mary Benter, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at the Willow Gardens Care Center. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph Parish, Marion, by the Rev. Tony Kruse. Inurnment: Private. Friends may visit with the family after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Virginia is survived by a son, Tony (Barb) Dunlevy of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Shane Dunlevy of Oklahoma; five brothers, Marcellas Hinz of Shellsburg, Virgil Hinz and Allen Hinz of Anamosa, Edward Hinz and Sylvester (JoAnn) Hinz of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Vernice Shada of Anamosa; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hinz of Anamosa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; two brothers; and two sisters.
Virginia was born May 3, 1924, in Farmington, Wis., the daughter of Paul and Esther Boucher Hinz. She married William Benter in 1966. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and was a former employee of SunMart Foods
