Benning, Maybell L.
Maybell L. Benning, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died in her home Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include her son, Alan Benning and wife Barb of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Stacey Rex and husband Tripp of Charlotte, N.C., Stephanie Benning of Tiffin, Christopher Benning of Chicago, Ben Kremenak III and wife Serena of Cedar Rapids and Renee Tobin of Cedar Rapids; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert W. Benning; her daughter, Leilani Kremenak; and a brother, Eugene Bailey.
Maybell was born Sept. 5, 1920 in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Brown) Bailey. She married Robert W. Benning on March 19, 1938, in Bethany, Mo. Maybell worked in bookkeeping at Peoples Bank in Cedar Rapids, Kirkwood Community College and helped for many years with Linn County Voting Services. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association. Maybell enjoyed working word puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
