Benjamin Lee Kinkead, 36, of Alburnett, died Friday, July 25, 2014, following a tragic motorcycle accident near Palo. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 28, also at the funeral home. Inurnment: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his
parents, Terry Kinkead and Penny (William) Meier; his daughter, Hailye; siblings, Jennifer (Angel) Toro, Candie (Brian) Mustard, Stacy (Randy) Steinike and Melonie Meier; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Benjamin was born Dec. 25, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Terry Kinkead and Penny Bird. Ben worked for Classic Countertops, installing countertops with one of his good friends. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his Harley with his friends. Ben had a special place in his heart for Brooke Tritle, the mother of his daughter, Hailye. He was a loyal friend and was loved by everyone he knew. He touched many people with his special smile. Ben volunteered numerous times to those less fortunate, with a special interest in autism.
A memorial fund has been established at Mike's in Alburnett.
