Benita Diane Miner, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died March 12, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospice, following a short illness. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Benita is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Nutt, Shelly Kirchmann and Janel Lutz, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Joseph and Eden Lutz; sister, Debra
Floyd of Cedar Rapids;
sisters-in-law, Laurita Gatrelle, Millie Willadsen and Chris Gatrelle; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; and brothers, John Gatrelle and Gary Gatrelle.
Benita was born on Dec. 14, 1940, in Boone, the daughter of Charles and Mercedes Young Gatrelle. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1958. On July 6, 1990, she married Glen Miner in North Liberty. Glen and Benita lived in Pittsburg, Texas, until his death in 2012. Benita worked at Merchants National Bank and Smulekoff's.
Benita had lived with her daughter, Janel and her two children for the past 10 years. They were blessed to have had that time with her. She was a loving Nana to Joseph and Eden.
