Benest, Lenore E.
Lenore E. Benest, 96, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Hiawatha Care Center, surrounded by her loving family, and went home to be with her husband, Kenny in heaven. Kenny and Lenore were married on Dec. 23, 1937.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with visitation to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Lenore is survived by her children, Janet (Neil) Thomas of Cedar Rapids, Lee Benest (special friend Lynn Constantine) of Tulsa, Okla., Sue (Steve) Wratten of Lyons, Colo., and Karen (Dick) Garbes of Cedar Rapids.
Lenore was loved by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter to be; many nieces and nephews; and one brother, Vernon Vercande of Marengo.
Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny in 2003; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
She was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Camil and Inez Vercande.
Lenore's family would like to extend a special thanks to Hiawatha Care Center for their loving care and comfort.
