Benesh, Gary D.
Gary D. Benesh, 70, of 1234 29th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his sisters, Joan Benesh, Waterloo, and Kathy Benesh Robinson, Cedar Rapids, and her children, Courtney Robinson and Justin Robinson; and his brother, James Michael (Beth) Benesh, Phoenix, Ariz., and his children, Sarah Benesh, Collin Benesh, Megan McRae and P.J. McRae.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Born May 26, 1941, in Waterloo, Iowa, Gary was the son of Duane and Wilma (Abrams) Benesh. Gary was a biology teacher at Cedar Rapids Washington High School for 33 years and chaired the science department.
