Bendixen, Carol F.
Carol F. Bendixen, 62, of Olin, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at her home. A Celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. John Lutheran Church in Olin, with the Rev. Jennifer Andreas officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Anamosa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin.
Carol Faye Moore was born June 9, 1947, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Kathrine (Hinrich) Moore. She attended school in Olin and Maquoketa. She married Chris Bendixen on Nov. 2, 1964, in Olin. She was a senior quality controller for Interior Automotive in Iowa City for 28 years and had worked other various jobs. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Olin. She liked to camp, was a collector of M&M's, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Bendixen of Olin; her children, Debra (Steve) Heiken of Wyoming, Stacy Bean of Tipton, Trent (Mary) Bendixen and Rodney (Krista) Bendixen, both of Olin, and Wylis (Vicki) Bendixen of Stanwood; 10 grandchildren, April and Chris Heiken, Kasey and Kelli Bean, Beth and Mitch Bendixen, Seth and Jordan Bendixen, Zach and Kourtney Bendixen; five sisters, Roberta Christiansen of Wellman, Wanda (Gail Williams) Petersen of Hale, Gloria Bodkin and Marlene Levsen, both of Olin, and Colleen (Gary) Townsend of Mechanicsville; and three brothers, Larry (Annie) Moore of East Moline, Ill., her twin Carlyle "Butch" Moore of Mechanicsville and Merlin (Carolyn) Moore of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harlan, Delbert "Sam," Willis "Tip" and Gerald "Rich" Moore; and five brothers-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Carol Bendixen Memorial Fund, which will be distributed as she wished.
