Bena, Rose I.
Rose I. Bena, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the home of her daughter. Memorial services: 5:30 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Nick Longworth will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Laura), and two sons, Ernest Jr. (Linda) and Gordon (Nancy), all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert; and several siblings.
Rose was born June 8, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Albert and Elsie Bell Rodgers. She married Ernest W. Bena on Sept. 10, 1946, in Davenport. Ernest passed away in 2003.
Rose was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Auxiliary and First Tuesday O.L.C.
She enjoyed crocheting, gambling, a good cup of cappuccino, shopping and especially the time spent with her many friends and beloved family.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice.
