Bell, Nancy O.
Nancy O. Bell, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Springs of Life Four Square Gospel Church, by the Rev. Dr. Don Jackson. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, George Eardley; children, Tamara Rodriguez and Paula (Jeff) Larson, both of Cedar Rapids, and Thomas (Linda) Bell of Walker; a sister, Susan Welsh of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Michele, Jeremy, Jon, Megan, Travis, Ashlee and Dalton; and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, to Fred and Dorathy Welsh. She graduated from the first graduating class at Jefferson High School in 1958. She attended St. Luke's School of Nursing. Nancy married George Bell in Preston, Minn., on March 21, 1959.
She was a born-again Christian with a deep faith and was an inspiration to all people who met her. Nancy battled cancer for 3 1/2 years and is now healed and in the loving arms of her heavenly father.
George and Nancy enjoyed camping in their camper in Wisconsin and after retirement they spent most of their summers there where Nancy thoroughly enjoyed cutting and splitting wood with George. She was a great worker.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nabi, Nicole, and Laurie and the staff at Oncology Associates as well as Jen from Hospice of Mercy for their loving care over the past few years.
Memorials may be directed to the college fund at Springs of Life Four Square Gospel Church.
