Bell, Arden Alva
Arden Alva Bell, 83, of Sultan, Wash., formerly of Bertram, died Jan. 12, 2011, in Monroe, Wash. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arden chose to be cremated. His ashes will be scattered with those of the love of his life, Alice Bell, who passed away Dec. 18, 2010.
Survivors include his children, Tom (Pat) Bell, Margaret (Michael) Gowan, Faye Boots and Ted (Laura) Bell; brother, Gene (Pat) Bell; sisters, Marie Malichky, Bert Ehrenberger, Margaret (Jim) Bloomquist and Joyce Hartzler; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alice Lnenicka Bell; parents, Hazel and Alva Bell; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Buchwalter; brothers-in-law, Hubert Malichky and Frank Ehrenberger; son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Boots.
Arden was born March 29, 1927, near Riverside, Iowa. He married Alice Lnenicka on June 14, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific arena as a member of the United States Navy. He was a long-term employee of FMC in Cedar Rapids.
Arden enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and chocolate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the City of Bertram to be used for improvements to the Bertram Town Hall.
