Bell, Anna L.
Anna L. Bell, 92, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 in her Mount Vernon home. Anna's funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 1012, Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Her visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the chapel. Anna will be buried next to her husband, Hazel, in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
Surviving Anna are her children, Thomas (Louise), Stanwood, Ruth (Dave) Rick Sr., Eagle Bend, Minn., Rose Techau, Stanwood, Patricia Swallom, Hiawatha, Carol (Tom) Techau, Mesquite, Nev., and Lois Swalley, Cedar Rapids. Anna is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Anna are her parents; four brothers; a sister; grandson, Joshua Swalley; and great-grandson, Peyton Swallom.
Anna was born October 9, 1919, in Renvrille County, Minnesota, the fourth child of Peter and Julia Snobl Chmelar. She married Hazel “Rosey” Bell, March 8, 1941. Anna and Rosey and their family moved to Mount Vernon in August 1960 from Bertha, Minn.
Anna was a caregiver and her family was the center of her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Anna's honor may be donated to Hospice of St. Luke's, 290 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Suite 100, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
