Belinda R. Benford, 58, passed away Jan. 5, 2022, in Maryville, Ill., after a short illness. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Belinda, the daughter of James and Bonnie Benford, was born in a U.S. military hospital in Okinawa on May 28, 1963. After her father retired from the Air Force in 1966, she lived in Florida for a short while before the family moved to Cedar Rapids. Belinda graduated from Jefferson High School and later attended Kirkwood Community College, where she received her associate's degree in nursing.
Belinda was a very caring individual and extremely devoted to her family and friends. She loved helping others and enjoyed her role as a personal caretaker. Belinda was a gifted storyteller and often laughed so hard that she shook with mirth. She loved animals, games and spending time with her family.
Belinda is survived by four siblings and their spouses, Gary (Sandra) Benford, James Benford Jr., Shelly Benford (Jim Gregorich) and David Benford; nephews and nieces, Jason Benford, Jennifer (Jeremy) Bigler, Christian Gregorich, Genevieve Gregorich, Lachlan Benford and Ronan Benford; great-nieces, Aviana and Regina Bigler; and many cousins.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara.
