Behel, Loretta M.
Loretta M. Behel, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in Boulder, Colo., following a sudden illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Laura Smith. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10:30 a.m. at the chapel on Wednesday. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Covington.
Survivors include her son, Mike Behel and wife Janet of Lafayette, Colo.; a grandson, Martin Jeffrey Behel of Irving, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Marie Behel-Lujan of San Francisco, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; parents; two sisters, Eileen Marie and Helen Adele; a brother, Ray Alan; and a grandson, Stephen Scott.
Loretta worked for Rockwell Collins. She and Martin loved to travel and go camping in the west. They both were Cub Scout leaders and officers in local unions in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed bowling, music, photography and animals. Loretta loved to work on genealogy and spending time with her family.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
