Bedell, Violet Ione
Violet Ione Bedell, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at her home. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home. Burial: Blain Cemetery, Swisher.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Brenda) Bedell of Lisbon and Judy (Barry) Tritle of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Bedell; six children; eight siblings; and one granddaughter.
Violet was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Anamosa, Iowa, daughter of Fred and Katherine (Zerbe) Northrup. She married John Albert Bedell on Feb. 5, 1952, in Arkansas. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking and baking. Violet was known for Vi's Pies.
