Bedell, Donald Robert
Donald Robert Bedell, 87, a lifelong resident of Whittier, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services for Don will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha; son, William Donald Bedell, and daughter, Elizabeth Anna Bedell, both of Whittier; and his twin sister, Dorothy (Clifford) Guindon of Barnesville, Ohio.
Don was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Whittier, the son of William and Anna (Smith) Bedell. He graduated from Springville High School in 1942. Don married Martha Chamness on Nov. 28, 1958, in Iowa City. He farmed in and around Whittier for his entire life.
