BECKY JO PARKS Marion Becky Jo Parks, 61, of Marion, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Becky was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Cedar Rapids to Martin and Ila (Veber) Wenndt. She graduated from Marion High School. Becky was united in marriage to Charles Parks on Dec. 6, 1975. Charles passed in June 2002 and Becky was remarried to Keith Kouba on June 24, 2006. Becky was employed at Coe College as an administrative assistant for 10 years, retiring in 2014. She took great joy in teaching piano lessons to many students over the years and was an avid quilter and gardener. Becky left a lasting impression on the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her and will always be remembered as a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband; sons, Daniel Parks (Dayna) and John Parks; stepchildren, Jennifer and Jason Kouba; sister, Gloria Nielson; granddaughter, Charlotte Parks; and many extended family members, who will miss her dearly. Becky was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Parks; first husband, Charles Parks; sister, Susan Soden; and brother, Larry Mulbrook. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with burial following at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Becky's family would like to express their gratitude to all who supported her and the family during her illness, including Dr. Chirantan Ghosh, Hospice of Mercy, staff at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy and our very dear extended family of friends.
