Beckmann, Shirley M.
HIAWATHA - Shirley M. Beckmann, 76, of Hiawatha, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Wesley Bruss. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Beckmann of Stafford, Va., and David Beckmann of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Julie Daly of Wheaton, Ill.; a brother, Charles Ommen of Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Charlene Eldridge of Federal Way, Wash., Patricia Nichoul of Hayward, Calif., and Norma Price of Rochester, Minn.; and five grandchildren, Timothy Beckmann, Shane Beckmann, Connor Beckmann, Sophia Daly and Domenic Daly.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Shirley was born April 28, 1934, in Fulda, Minn., the daughter of Carson and Delia Hennings Ommen. She married Dale Henry Beckmann on Aug. 19, 1956, in Loveland, Colo. He died in 1991. Shirley graduated from the College of Medical Technology and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
