Becker, Herbert F.
Herbert F. Becker, 96, of Dyersville, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Herb was born Sept. 15, 1914, the son of Joseph H. and Catherine (Goerdt) Becker. He and his brother worked the family farm until retirement in 1981.
Survivors include nephews and nieces: Jerry (Kathy) Becker of Dyersville, Vernon Becker, Therese Melchert, Gilbert Becker, Ethel Hosch, Kenneth Becker, Janet Marbach, Virginia Uhlenkamp, Rosie Dettbarn, Grace Menke, David Becker, Larry Becker, Pat Becker, Marion Becker, Edward Becker, DeWayne Becker, Diane Forzano, Paul Becker, Linda Becker and Joseph J. Becker; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings and their spouses: Lorenz, Alvina, Reynold (Erma), Leander (Lavena), Loretta, Clarence (Lucille), and Joseph (Marie) Becker.
