Becicka, David Emil
David Emil Becicka, 61, of Coggon, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
David was born Nov. 6, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Joseph and Lila (Pierson) Becicka. He married Shirley King Lubbock on May 23, 2003, in Cedar Rapids. He was a union electrician for over 42 years, most recently with Nelson Electric. He enjoyed drag racing with his many friends, antiquing with his wife, as well as working on his out of town acreage. Dave loved the time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Shirley; his son, Dave (Amy) Becicka of Fairfax; stepchildren, Staci Lubbock of Livingston, Mont., Stephanie (James) Bomar of Vinton, Justin (Cherie Scott) Lubbock of Shellsburg, Rocky (Dayna Lyons) Lubbock of Shellsburg, Katie (Christopher Jordan) Lubbock of Fairfax, Spencer Lubbock of Marion, and Sara Lubbock of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Elli and Ty Becicka, Marilyn Bomar, Carter and Eli Lubbock, Lauren, LeeAnne, Miyles and Lindy Lubbock, Jackson and Maddison Jordan; and a brother Jerry (Bonnie) Becicka of Swisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Stansbery.
