Bean, Pearl K.
Pearl K. Bean, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held after 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at Jo Dee Moody's home at 4401 33rd Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Survivors include her children, Harlan (Karen) Bean of Ringwood, Ill., Jo Dee (Gene) Moody of Cedar Rapids, Brad (Deb) Bean of Vinton, Kim (Barb) Bean of Cedar Rapids, and Ron (Dana) Bean of Cedar Rapids; sister, Garnet Schaubroeck of Cedar Rapids; and two special friends, Marge Post of Cedar Rapids, and Jane Praspio of Chicago.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard in 1997; and two sisters.
Pearl Katherine Franks was born March 2, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ira and Mary Ann (Randall) Franks. On March 7, 1946, she married Howard Bean in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was owner/operator of Beans Bindery for many years. Pearl loved to spend time fishing, camping and spending time with family at their trailer in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and crafts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
