Baumert, Adam John
Adam John Baumert, 23, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, from injuries suffered in an accident on Interstate 80. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family wants to greet friends and relatives one hour before the service. The Rev. Greg Forseen will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother, Shelley Baumert (Denny Kane) of Cedar Rapids; father, Randy (Diane) Thompson of Des Moines; the love of his life, Carla Levy; his precious daughters, Jordynn, 6, and Jaydynn, 3; grandparents, Larry and Connie Baumert of Marion and Dale and Sharon Thompson of Des Moines; and siblings, Lindsay Heinrich, Paul and Nicole Murray, Kourtney Kane, Chad Thompson, Nova and Ripley Cline, Bryce Bailey, Crystal Busick, Jessica and Dusty Walker and Lacretia and Andrea Levy.
Also surviving are aunts and uncle, Marjean “Jeannie” (Baumert) Shipley, Scott “Clyde” Baumert, LeAnn (Brian) Williams, Dottie Thompson and Tammy Ewing; special cousins, Breanna, Jamari and Luke Williams; and several other cousins and friends too numerous to name.
Adam was born Dec. 2, 1988, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Linn-Mar Community School in Marion and later attended Metro High School in Cedar Rapids. Adam worked as a framer in construction for a special friend, David Daughenbaugh of Daughenbaugh Construction.
Adam was passionate about his music and being an artist, and most of all, loved spending time with his family, friends, especially Michael Mittan of Cedar Rapids, and his dog, Hendrix.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Shelley; friend, Bruce; and his special companion at age 12, his beagle, Trooper.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his daughters.
