Baughman, Ralph
Ralph Baughman, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died at home, Wednesday, July 18, 2012. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Barbara; brother, Marion Baughman; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Linne and Cindy Schwarz of Cedar Rapids and Diana (Butch) Anderson of Central City; brother-in-law, Bill Vozenilek of Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Ralph was born June 10, 1944 in Iowa Falls to Gene and Bernice Baughman. He served in the Navy during Vietnam. Ralph worked for Nissen Trampoline and then retired from Advance Millwork in 2010 after 18 years. He dearly loved his motorcycles and enjoyed riding with friends. He was an excellent furniture woodworker whose favorite saying was “I don't repair antiques, I build them.” He will be remembered for his terrific humor and quick wit. He was a thoughtful lifetime friend who will be missed by his loving family, especially his three exceptional sisters-in-law who loved him dearly, good friends, and great neighbors.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bell and staff and all of the medical teams he has had over the years for the wonderful care he received. They also would like to thank Marguerite for the outstanding kindness, compassion, and excellent care she gave Ralph.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
