Batte Sr., Luther Gene
CEDAR RAPIDS - Luther Gene Batte Sr., 60, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, after a short illness.
Luther is survived by two sons, Luther Batte III and Lester (G) Batte; two daughters, Reba Ballew and Nikki Batte; brothers, Robert Batte and Johnnie Sanders; sisters, Diana Hodges and Denise Sanders; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Rolondo Ballew.
Luther was born July 15, 1950, in Brandon Miss., the son of Luther Batte and Annie Lee Lott. He worked construction for many years. He was known for his laid back, yet humorous personality. Luther had a big heart, spending precious time with family. He loved fishing, singing and listening to music.
He'll be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
