Bates, Beatrice 'Bea' Isabelle
Beatrice “Bea” Isabelle Bates, 90, of Fairbank, died Aug. 19, 2011, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Woods Funeral Home in Fairbank, with the Rev. Michael Christie officiating. Burial: Fairbank Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula (Clifford) Reed, Oelwein, and Marsha (Tony) Sherbon, Marengo; two sons, Kerry (Dee) Bates, Lovett, Texas, and Edwad Bates, Oelwein; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Born June 18, 1921, in Oneal, Neb., the daughter of Ernest Marion and Lillian Mae (Stahly) Harris, she married Kenneth Bates on Nov. 17, 1944. She was a homemaker.
