Barton, Billie
Billie Barton, 77, of Monticello, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Hiawatha Care Center following an extended illness. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Surviving are three children, Linda (Tom) Osborne, Decatur, Ill., and Tammy Barton and Rick Barton, both of Monticello; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Jerry (Mary), Kenny (Phyllis) and Deloris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Joan in 2010.
Billie Eugene Barton was born June 16, 1936, in Millerton, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Eva Adams Barton. Billie received his education in the Millerton schools. Bill married Joan Podhaski on Dec. 9, 1957, in Monticello. The couple resided in the Monticello area. Bill worked for Morris and Co. of Marion, doing waterline construction for 30+ years.
