Barker, Adelia Belle

Adelia Belle Barker, 91, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, in Anamosa at the Silvercrest Residential Care facility. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Hillcrest Baptist and Brethren Church, Fredericksburg. Private family inurnment will precede the service at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Friends may greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour before the service at the church on Dec. 1.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Gerald (Maureen) Barker of Anamosa, and their children, Todd (Melissa) and Carrie (Bob) Thompson, both of Cedar Rapids, and great-grandchildren, Lily Belle Violet and Todd Andrew Barker Jr.; and her son, Benjamin Barker of LaPlata, Md., and his children, Josh (Angie) Barker of Albert Lea, Minn., and Jenny (James) Kenyon, and great-grandchildren, Ausland Barker and McKenzie Belle and Ryland Kenyon. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Marian Schumdlach of Owatonna, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; her parents, Floyd and Nellie (Case) Whitcomb; her son and daughter-in-law, Garth and Marlyne; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Margaret Whitcomb.
