Bares, Victoria 'Vickie' Lynn
Victoria “Vickie” Lynn Bares, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at her residence from a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church by the Rev. Dennis Juhl. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at church.
She is survived by one daughter, Melissa (John) Andrews of Pittsburg, Pa.; grandson, Gavin Andrews; sister, Jacque Kroeger; two nephews, Michael and Doug Kroeger; and niece, Kristy Brockmeyer, all of Davenport.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents and aunt, Fran Dickerson.
She was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Papillion) Bares.
Vickie was currently working for CRST in the insurance claims department and where she loved going every day. She had been employed there for the past 30 years.
She was a woman who devoted her life to her daughter and grandson and every chance she got to see them. Vickie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
