Barbara O. Wallick, 93, formerly of Mechanicsville, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living Center, Tipton. There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Barbara was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Everett L. and Gladys E. Miller Ferguson. She was a graduate of Mechanicsville High School as well as Coe College, Cedar Rapids, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She married Orin "Jr" Wallick on March 15, 1944, on the Ferguson farm in Mechanicsville. Barbara was a teacher and a homemaker.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Chris (Glen) Weber of Mechanicsville, Claudia Wallick of West Branch and Elisa Wallick of Iowa City; son, Kermit (Kay) Wallick of Mechanicsville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cleo Ferguson of Tipton; and brother, David (Dorothy) Ferguson of Mechanics-ville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orin; two brothers, Richard and Walter Ferguson; sister-in-law, Loretta Ferguson; and great-grandchild, Dillon Flockhart.
