Barbara Waldron Waldie, 98, of Iowa City, IA, died peacefully, Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Oaknoll Retirement Residence.
She is survived her son, Bill Waldie Jr. (Patricia Heiden) of Iowa City, IA; son-in-law, Col. James Boelens of Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren, David (Rachel) Boelens of Rockwall, TX, and Jamie (Adon) Vazquez of Arlington, VA; four great-grandchildren, Caden, Lane and Elise Boelens and Jacob Vasquez; plus several nieces and nephews.
The family is deeply appreciative of the loving and caring staff at Oaknoll who helped make her later
years memorable. No services are planned in Iowa City. A private burial will take place, at a later date, at Forest Lawn in Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Oaknoll Foundation, 1 Oaknoll Court, Iowa City, IA 52246-5250.
