BARBARA ANN MILLER
Iowa City
Barbara Ann Miller, 57, of Iowa City, formerly of Solon, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon with Father David Beckman presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
Barbara was born Jan. 4, 1961, at Mercy Iowa City, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Stahle) Miller. She was a resident and client of Systems Unlimited most of her life. Barb competed in Special Olympics, vacationed at many different resorts and attended Camp Courageous as a camper. Camp Courageous also offered opportunities for trips abroad. Barbara's sense of humor, gentle smile, love of chocolate and zeal for life embodied who she was all her life. Her mother often said, "There is a saint among us." She was so right.
Barbara is survived by her two sisters, Maureen (Al) Bagg of Racine, Wis., and Janice (Phil) Short of Winthrop; two brothers, Raymond (Pat) Miller of New Paltz, N.Y., and Jon (Mary) Miller of Fremont, Calif.; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Thomas and Helena Stahle and Raymond and Mae Miller; and two brothers, Maurice "Maury" Miller and Thomas "Tom" Miller.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous.
