BARBARA LOUISE MARTENS Cedar Rapids Barbara Louise Martens, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center from complications following an accidental fall at her home. Graveside services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Molly (Brian) Synnott of Briggsville, Wis., and Amy (Mike) Efeney of Rockwall, Texas; a son, Brian (Laura) of Wausau, Wis.; and a sister, Susan Danne of Ann Arbor, Mich. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ann, Jacob, Carlee and Trey. She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara was born March 26, 1944, in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Lillian Baldwin Strnad. Barbara had an extensive career at Mercy Medical Center and retired after more than 40 years of service. Barbara was a member of the Quota Club International. She enjoyed reading, sewing and playing the piano. Her greatest joy, however, was the time spent with her beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
