Barbara Krouse, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace Krouse of Cedar Rapids; son, Jeffery (Cathy) Krouse of Fairfax; daughter-in-law, Sherri Krouse of Gilbert, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Jenna, Parker and Hunter; siblings, Jim (Joy) Mote of Delhi and Kenny (Mary) Mote of Marion; sister-in-law, Donna Krouse of Louisville, Ky.; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Patty) Mote, Jay (Mary) Mote, Jon (Katie) Mote, Scott Krouse, Jill Mote, Kelly (Mike) Martin, Jennifer Freeland, Shelly Krouse and Stacy Brown; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Conner, Bridget, Casey, Tanner, Calloway, Mitchell, Sasha, Lulu, Mia, Ryan, Keagan, Jake, Brady, Devin, Daryon, Braydon and Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David; brother-in-law, Larry; and good friend, Norval Oliver.
Barbara was born April 23, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Harold and Hazel (Williams) Mote. She married Wallace Krouse on Dec. 23, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. Barbara worked at Manor Care Nursing Home as an administrator and also at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center for 10 years.
Her family always came first. Barbara loved her home, flowers, the music of all the birds, reading, animals and contributing to many funds to help children and animals and their health needs.
