Barbara J. Kern, 80, of Midland, Mich., died Aug. 17, 2015, in Bay City, Mich.
Born June 30, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Frank D. and Edith M. (Hunter)
Davis. Barb graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953, and later from the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Arts in music and a master's in cello performance.
She is survived by sons, William A. (Janice) Kern of Huntsville, Ala., and Thomas (Sheila) Kern of Fenton, Mich.; their father, William (Elaine) Kern of Midland; nine grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Larry (Gayle) Davis of Gainesville, Fla.; and a nephew and niece.
