Barbara Joyce Proctor, 91 of Cedar Rapids, passed away on December 13, 2024 at St. Luke’s Transitional Care Center. Memorial services will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation prior beginning at 10:00 A.M. Private family interment to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joyce was born in Creston, Iowa on January 20, 1933, the daughter of Edward D Spurr and Edith L. (Feeback) Spurr. She was united in marriage to Parnell E. Proctor on September 1, 1951.
Joyce is survived by 5 children, Bruce (Pam), Penny (Bob), Steve (Kim), Debbie and Sheryl; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.
She was a graduate of Creston High School and was a homemaker and volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital. Joyce was also a member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church.
Joyce enjoyed many winters in Florida with Parnell where she made over 100 ceramic dolls. Holidays with a large family were among her favorite times of year.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to St. Luke’s Hospice in memory of Joyce.
