Barbara Jane Klemzak, 79 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday November 6, 2022 at The Silver Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marion. Graveside services: 12 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City by Penny Ackerman.
Barbara is survived by her husband Gerald of Cedar Rapids; children David (Donna) Klemzak of Virginia, MN., Steven (Mary) Klemzak of Marion, Teresa (Rod) Wilson of Troy Mills, Tammy (Mel) Leonard of Jacksonville FL.; siblings Kathy (John) Taylor of Elk Grove CA., and Tom Fry of Portland OR., honorary son Mark (Marcy) Heald of Cedar Rapids; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol, brother John, and daughter Tracy Sidwell.
Barbara was born on January 12, 1943 the daughter of John and Verna (Ford) Fry in Iowa City. She attended school in Amana and received a GED in her later years. On July 18, 1970 she was united in marriage to Gerald Klemzak in El Paso, TX. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker and mother.
Barbara enjoyed knitting, playing Tetris, and watching MASH. She held a special place in her heart for Veterans. She loved being a grandma and great grandma and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for funeral expenses.
