Barbara Joyce Berry,
84, of Ely, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Living Center West. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with the Rev. Julie Schuett presiding. Burial will be in First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, near Ely. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel.
Barbara was born Dec. 11, 1930, the daughter of Harold and Edna (Willie) Hartley. She married Osmond "Ozzie" Berry Jr. on April 25, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. Barbara worked for over 32 years with College Community Schools until retiring in 1992. She loved roller skating, traveling, playing bingo, Skip-Bo, crossword puzzles, reading, attending her grandchildren's events and spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Judy (James Sr.) Serbousek of Cedar Rapids and Janet Berry of Marion; daughter-in-law, Lori Berry of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Jason (Donelle) Mullin, James (Lara) Serbousek Jr., Jaydon (Flory) Serbousek, Jeri (Casey) Holst, Ryan (Amy) Barta, Mathew (Nicole) Berry and Michael Boyens; 13 great-grandchildren, Jordan Orendorf, Rylie Mullin, Sydney Hoffmann, Kamren and Rosalee Serbousek, Katherine Bustillo, Jessenia Serbousek, Tyler and Caleb Holst, Cody (Chelsey) Moeller, Dalton Moeller, Aubrey Barta and Ashley Berry; one great-great-grandson, Brayton Moeller; stepmother, Mildred Hartley of Iowa City; sister, Linda (Darrell) Flinn of Iowa City; brothers, Alan Glad (Becky Williams) of Tulsa, Okla., and Tom (Sue) Hartley of Minneapolis, Minn.; brother-in-law, Bill (Lavonda) Barnhart of Punta Gorda, Fla.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ozzie on Sept. 26, 2011; her son, Steven Berry; her brother, Gerald Hartley; brother-in-law, Bob Cook; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Barnhart, Charlotte (Bud) Reinheimer and Caroline (Donald) Stewart.
